Open House Melbourne with kids.

We spent the day exploring some great Open House buildings and have some advice if you are heading in for day two tomorrow.

-Hit the website or grab a guide book and plan your day.

-Self guided buildings are a better option with kids because you avoid lines, which can be lengthy. If you do want to go to a building with tours get there early (everything kicks off at 10.00am).

-The AGL building (right beside southern cross station) has tours but you can just have a look around their entrance hall which has great views over southern cross station's roof.

-Mission to Seafarers is self guided and has a sausage sizzle if you are looking for an easy lunch.

-NGV Australia is running a special event at 11am at their new exhibition on children's book illustrations. Graeme Base will be speaking about Animalia. Tickets available on the NGV website.

-Open House Melbourne are active on both Facebook and Instagram and publish updates regularly on buildings with lines.

-Give the kids a camera or old camera phone, it really gets them involved.

-Circus Oz was only open for one day. If you show up today you better be able to juggle.

So, charge the camera, pack some snacks and check out www.openhousemelbourne.org

Have fun!
