The Top Ten Instagramable Adventures in Melbourne with Kids

Melbourne has plenty of photogenic places to visit but if you are heading out with kids you need more than just a photo op! Here is my list of great adventures in and around the city that happen to be really photogenic without even trying. Get snapping :)

Hosier Lane. Sure, this is usually a quick point and shoot for the tourists but it can be fun with kids to really explore around here. Sit and watch an artist liven up a wall, explore the nearby lanes to find even more art or even bring along your own art and paste it up. That's childhood with street cred!

Chase the sunset at Harpley Estate Playground. This is a huge playground with plenty of equipment to keep everyone happy. Pick a good night to watch the sun go down and this place is magic, keep an eye out for some ripper silhouette shots.

Birrarung Marr. This shot was taken in the wild flowers that run along the Flinders Street side but there is plenty more to discover. Art Play runs free workshops for kids, the playground is fantastic and there are great views of the river and the city. There are always events here on the weekends that can be fun too.

The Hello House is quirky architecture at its best. Take a stroll past this Melbourne gem and then head across he road to Rowena's Cafe where you'll find great food and the most instagramable shakes in town.  (Alfred Street, Richmond)

The National Gallery of Victoria. One of our favourite places in town! The most garden is begging to be photographed and it's so much fun to play in. Check out the waterwall out front for some great effects and see if you can come up with an answer to the challenge of photographing the Great Hall in a new way.

Brighton Beach Boxes. Kick off your shoes and run around these cute 'beach cubbies' as my crew calls them. There is a nice beach here if you feel like a swim or just make some sandcastles.

Docklands. Take a stroll along the water and have fun with the eclectic public art along the way. Dame Edna is down there as well as a cow in a tree, a huge mosaic mural, concrete mountains to climb, a waterwall and bubble ceiling and plenty more.

Melbourne Airport Observation Area. Ice cream trucks are instagramable right? The planes put on a good show too. This spot is always open so why not check it out in the evening too!
