A few months ago our daughter came to us and said that she wanted to cut off her hair to donate it to make a wig. This was quite a surprise from a girl who loves her 'Repunzel Hair' and who had resisted every suggestion for so much as a trim up until now. Obviously we were very happy to help her make this happen.
Mini is now booked into a local hairdresser on the date that marks two years since her little brother got his own dramatic haircut, his was a rushed pre-op shave to remove a massive brain tumour. Rav is doing well now but it's been a rough road that has seen Mini spend a lot of time in and around hospitals and meet many children affected by serious illness. Luckily this experience has seemed to have had a positive impact on her and she just wants to help kids like her brother. We have set up a fundraising page for her Big Chop campaign with all funds going to the Royal Children's Hospital, where her brother is a frequent guest.
This amazing hospital has helped, and continues to help, so many children from all over Australia. They go to extraordinary lengths to make the time spent in hospital as pleasant as it can be. We are so lucky that we access to the care they provide and are so happy to help, in our small way, to ensure it continues.
If you are in a position to spare a few dollars for this fundraising effort we would appreciate it very much, we hear Meerkats are pretty expensive to feed.
