Parks Victoria Free School Holiday Workshops

Parks Victoria are running some fantastic school holidays workshops in the Junior Rangers program over the next few weeks! All the classes are free and perfect for school age adventurers.

This morning Mini attended the fishing and river mini beasts one and had a great time learning to use a fishing rod and discovering more about the tiny critters that live in our rivers.

Junior Rangers run programs all over Melbourne and bookings can be made online

About Junior Rangers

The Junior Ranger program encourages kids to explore Victoria’s amazing parks with a real park ranger. Junior Rangers can take part in cool activities like rock pool rambles, historic tours and spotlight night walks. They also have the ability to get out and about anytime they like with a range of cool Junior Ranger activities that they can download right here from the website and complete with their family and friends anytime they like.

How Can I Become A Junior Ranger?

Junior Rangers is not a club; no membership is required to take part. Junior Ranger activities are run mostly during school holidays and on some weekends.

  1. When school holidays roll around, make sure that you sign up for one of the many Junior Ranger activitieson offer. You can discover marine life along the coast, wildlife in parks, go on an underground adventure tour or learn about the indigenous history of some of our parks along with lots of other great things!
  2. Sign up to the Junior Ranger mailing list. By signing up to our mailing list you’ll become one of the first to know about our school holiday programs. We’ll also send you our seasonal Junior Ranger newsletter which is jam-packed with heaps of information about how to have fun in parks.
  3. Complete a take-home activity. Looking for something to do in a park? Print out one of our activity sheets and take it out into a park to do with your family and friends.
  4. Read and learn the Junior Ranger way. Learn how Junior Ranger’s take care of the environment and what you can do to make sure Victoria’s special places remain stay protected.
