I had heard a lot about Bollygum Park over the years, it pops up regularly on the top playgrounds lists, and it didn't disappoint. Tucked away in Kinglake, well north of Melbourne, it is a charming playground that puts together traditional equipment with beautiful little details all meant to bring to life the children's book 'Bollygum'.
There is equipment to suit all ages and abilities and plenty of it.
The kids were delighted with the huge amount of wildlife around. We saw so many birds in the trees right at the edge of the playground and in the creek bed that has been built.
There are lots of little discoveries to be made, this is a playground to be explored.
There are also pages from the book all through the park so you can read the story.
There are toilets on site but we found them blocked beyond use when we visited. Free parking.
Bollygum Park is located at:
40 Whittlesea-Kinglake Rd, Kinglake
We stopped on the way to camping in Myrrhee and it makes for a good rest break. It isn't a playground we would drive all the way to Kinglake for but if we were in the area I would visit again.
