Stay in a Vintage Tram at Camp Kulning

I feel like we may need to close our Airbnb account and walk away now. It doesn't get better than this. Camp Kulning is magic.

Located just outside Kyneton, one hour north of Melbourne, is this little gem of a property. The star of the show is Jean Claude Van Tram, a Vintage Tram that has been converted into comfortable accommodation. Inside is a bedroom, bathroom, toilet, kitchen and lounge area with wood heater. This conversion has been done with love and loyalty to the original purpose so you get all the character of the old tram.

There are games, books and magazines to entertain the crew inside plus the drivers cabin is stocked up with outdoor games like cricket, badminton and croquet.

In the kitchen you'll find a fridge, kettle, hot plate, toaster, plates and cutlery and plenty of other bits and pieces. Tea and coffee is also supplied.

There is a cool little tiki bar in the shed outside with a dart board and a BBQ area. Cast iron cookware is also supplied if you prefer cooking on the campfire.

The campfire is set up and ready to go (outside summer fire restrictions) so bring plenty of marshmallows! I could have sat there all night.

There's a sweet hammock set up between the tram and the van too.  (The little van is no longer part of the accommodation but still on the property to explore).

We loved staying here, it was fun and quirky. The tram is comfortable to sleep in but the place has a real camping vibe.

The tram has a couple of little steps but plenty to hold onto so even Rav with his mobility challenges was able to get around easily. It would not be wheelchair accessible though.

It's such a fun little getaway. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was definitely more fun than throwing a party!

Trentham Falls is about 15minutes drive and a nice spot to stop on the way/ way home.
